Herdsman Jailed For Two Years In Ekiti State For Destroying Crops

Chief Magistrate's Court in Ado Ekiti has sentenced one Ali Haruna, 18, to two years detainment for taking his cows for munching in a farmland in Ado Ekiti and annihilating products.

The Magistrate, Idowu Ayenimo, found the blamed blameworthy for a two-check charge of wilful and unlawful harm of ranch products at Ago Aduloju in Ado Ekiti.
The court demonstrated that Haruna was summoned on January 22, 2016.

The four arraignment witnesses affirmed that the convict was gotten in the midnight munching his cows in the homestead having a place with Abdullahi Yaho and Bello Mohammed.

The money crops said to have been annihilated by the bovines in the ranch included cassava, maize, okro and pepper, all esteemed at N3m.

With all due respect, the respondent had told the court that the proprietor of the cows lived in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.

The judge said that the court did not trust Haruna's resistance as it was not trustworthy.

He held that the Police prosecutor, Mr. Olasunkanmi Bankole, had demonstrated his case past each sensible uncertainty.

He along these lines indicted the litigant as charged without a choice of fine.
